Why we must act now
2025 will present many challenges and many opportunities—it's time for us to step up. Third Actors will be working to stem the tide of authoritarianism, to reduce fossil fuel consumption before the world faces irreversible damage, and to grow our power to protect the people and places we love.
Ways To Give
You can make an online donation here. While these are not tax deductible, ongoing gifts make a huge difference. Consider a monthly donation to help us plan ahead for powerful, culture-shifting work
For other ways to give, including some that are tax deductible, check out the options below.
To give Third Act the greatest flexibility, make a non-tax deductible gift:
- Make check payable to “Third Act Initiative“
- Mail to Third Act, PO Box #445, Nassau, NY 12123
If you need a tax deduction:
- Make check payable to “Third Act Education Fund”
- Mail to Third Act, PO Box #505, Nassau, NY 12123
Make a grant request from your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) in a matter of minutes with our tool, powered by Free Will. It integrates with most major donor-advised fund sponsors, saving you time while streamlining the grant request process.
Make a grant request here.
The EIN number you need is: 93-4139858
If you would like to forward your donation by check:
- Make check payable to “Third Act Education Fund”
- Mail to Third Act, PO Box #505, Nassau, NY 12123
Give from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) through a Qualified Charitable Distribution through Third Act Education Fund, EIN 93-4139858. Mailing address: Third Act, PO Box #505, Nassau, NY 12123.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a tax-efficient way for those 70 ½ or older to donate from their IRA, while also counting towards your annual Required Minimum Distribution.
Donating stock and securities doesn’t have to be complicated.
When you donate securities, you make an outsized impact without taking money directly out of your bank account. Plus, neither you nor Third Act will be taxed on the gains for appreciated assets you donate.
Ready to get rid of your Tesla – or your well worn and beloved family vehicle? You can easily donate a car in any condition to Third Act through the CARS (Charitable Adult Rides and Services) vehicle donation program. Their team arranges for your car to be towed and auctioned. Then they send 70% of the proceeds to Third Act.
Donors can see FAQs and sign up online. Visit https://careasy.org/third-act or call the vehicle donation program at 855-500-7433 (855-500-RIDE).
We would be honored to work with you to create a lasting legacy in support of a just and sustainable future. We’re partnering with FreeWill to offer the Third Act community an easy, secure way to create or update your will in just 20 minutes—ensuring peace of mind for you and continued support for the people and causes that matter most.
- You can include us as a beneficiary in your will. A bequest is easy to arrange and is not payable until you pass away, so it does not affect assets or cash flow during your lifetime. It is also private and revocable, since you can change provisions in the will or trust at any time, and it is not made public until death.
- Your can make a gift from your life insurance or retirement plan. Through a beneficiary designation form, you can make Third Act a full or partial beneficiary. Your estate may benefit from a tax deduction for the value of the proceeds from the policy. This can leave more behind for the loved ones you’ve named in your will. You can also sign over a fully-paid life insurance policy and receive a tax deduction now for that gift.
If you have questions about planning to make Third Act a beneficiary in your will or estate plans, please email pam@thirdact.org. We’d love to honor you by including your name among those in our Legacy Circle but do let us know if you’d prefer to keep your name anonymous. Your lawyer will need Third Act’s mailing address: Third Act Initiative, PO Box 445, Nassau, NY 12123
