We are an affinity working group of Third Act Central. Our group includes a diverse array of senior educators.

Our Mission:  We seek to restore and sustain the health of our climate and our democracy. We work with other local, national, and international campaigns engaged in similar efforts.  We also collaborate with TA Central’s national campaigns, such as Banking on Our Future, Safeguarding Our Democracy, and Power up Communities!  Whenever possible, we also team up with like-minded civic, environmental, and non-profit organizations.

Our Goal:  We strive to educate and organize diverse citizens about current threats to the future of democracy and the Earth’s climate.  In collaboration with other organizations, we strive to influence those in power through protestOpEdsendorsement of legal strategies, lobbying, and other forms of collective action.

Our Policies: We are an inclusive and democratically-organized Working Group, an arm of Third Act Central that engages in transparent and egalitarian decision making.

How to Get Started with Third Act Educators

We invite you to join our monthly Working Group Zoom meetings, which enable us to create a community of purpose and solidarity.  The monthly meetings include presentations by scholars and activists as well as breakout sessions for our Project Teams. As a member of the Working Group, we welcome you to submit ideas for future action projects that coincide with our stated goals.  Please use the following form to submit your ideas: Third Act Educators Project Team Proposal Form.
