Third Act New Hampshire teams with our national organization and local NH partners for collective actions to stabilize the climate and protect our democracy.

In response to the March 2023 nationwide protest to call out Dirty Banks funding fossil fuel projects, more than fifty people rallied in front of a Concord, NH bank. Empowered by the day, the idea of ongoing activism on behalf of climate change and strengthening our democracy took root.

It is the mission of Third Act New Hampshire to take collective action on issues of climate justice, sustainable energy, and strengthening democracy.

It is our vision as a local working group to be inclusive in our membership, to utilize the skills, resources, and time of our members, and to take action joyfully and intentionally.

To see how you might become involved, check our Events page often, look at recent newsletters here, or reach out to us by email at newhampshire@thirdact.org.  When you join Third Act NH, you’ll receive regular (but not too many!) emails letting you know the activities we’re engaged in, so you can see how you might help out.

What We Do

Our NH working group has been supporting Third Act’s three national campaigns:

  • Divestment from fossil fuel funding, called Climate Finance
  • Supporting voter registration, voting rights, and democratic institutions, called Uplift Democracy
  • Accelerating the transition to sustainable energy, called Power Up Communities

Some locally-focused actions to which we are committed:

  • Continue resisting Trump’s and Musk’s undermining of our democracy.  We meet every Tuesday from Noon to 1:00pm on the sidewalk in front of the State House in Concord, NH, 107 N. Main St.  All are welcome to join in.
  • Post-carding, phone banking, and door knocking in support of progressive candidates in local, state, and federal elections.  See the Events page or contact us.
  • Bring forward climate change as a major factor in elections.  We can provide you with climate questions to ask of candidates, just ask at newhampshire@thirdact.org.
  • Door to Door “deep canvassing” to engage in face to face dialogue.
  • Public Protest which may or may not include non-violent civil disobedience, as when we joined the 2024 Summer of Heat protests in New York City and Bedford, MA, the February 2025 50-50-1 protest in 50 state capitols, and the nationwide Hands Off! rallies, in which TA NH participated in 3 NH locations in April 2025.
  • Collaboration with local environmental and democracy justice groups such as Kent St. Coalition and 350NH.org.
  • Contacting state legislators and the Public Utility Commission on behalf of policies furthering the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy–activity there helped to keep net metering (selling back to power companies the electricity generated by your home solar array) in place!
  • Outreach to fellow Granite Staters about financial resources from Inflation Reduction Act to improve your home energy efficiency and electrify vehicles and appliances.  Reach out to us for this information!
