Third Act Oregon (TAO) brings together the political and economic power of Oregonians over age 60 to move local communities in the direction of a more sustainable society and planet.
Our demographic is large, we have a wealth of life experience, we have huge economic power, and we VOTE. When we put our voices together, we are powerful.
We focus on three main issues, and we have developed an Action Team to address and act on each issue. The teams usually meet at least once per month, at either a live location or on Zoom. Check the Events page of this website for Action Team meeting information:
Power Up Communities Team
Third Act Oregon’s Power Up Communities Team focuses on several topics including; Solar Legislation and stopping new Fossil Gas Generation Plants and Pipelines. We work with utility regulators, state legislatures, and regional grid operators in support of the clean energy transition.
In addition, the TAO Power Up Community Team will continue our work assisting TAO members in the electrification of their vehicles and residential appliances.

Democracy & Voting Team
Taking action with others is a really positive way to address the concerns we have for our endangered democracy. There are many ways to get involved, and all of our efforts, both large and small, are so important!

Climate Finance Team

Third Act Oregon’s Climate Finance Team aims to pressure the big banks and insurance companies to stop funding fossil fuel extraction and infrastructure.
We raise awareness of how banks, insurance companies, and investment companies continue to bankroll and insure expanding fossil fuel use. We help Oregonians move their money out of financial institutions and investments that are funding climate chaos, and let those institutions and the public know why they are doing it. We support or participate in non-violent direct actions targeting the big banks and insurance companies.

There are many ways you can help pass on a livable planet and a functioning democracy to your children. You can send emails, write letters, make phone calls, or sign petitions. You can attend virtual meetings or in-person events. Third Act Oregon will provide regular updates and notify you of opportunities for you to take action.
We have the numbers, we have the resources, we have the wisdom, and if we all put our voices together, we have the power.
