In our second edition of The Forum, Third Act Nevada’s quarterly newsletter, we focus heavily on the election and the Get Out the Vote initiative. Our hope is to inspire you to get out there and help the Harris-Walz ticket make it through the White House doors.

Last night I watched the opening of the Democratic National Convention.  Among the signs on the convention floor was a sea of blue proclaiming, “We Vote. We Win.”  I went to bed feeling that anything was possible.  Right now, the energy is high.  Yet, we all know that sustaining it takes commitment and a daily renewed effort.

In that vein, I want to share the mantra – taken from UAW President Shawn Fain’s speech – I will be using to get to the finish line: Stand up.  Speak up.  Show up.

Even if you don’t have the time to devote to campaigning, PLEASE make sure you vote and tell everyone you know – and some you might not – to be sure to exercise that power vested in you as a member of our democracy!
