The Buckeye Environmental Network sponsored a Brine Symposium on Thursday, March 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus. We heard from workers affected by oilfield brine contamination and scientists explaining the hazards of fracking brine.  Since 1985 this heavy metal and radioactive laden brine has been approved for use as a deicer and dust suppressant on Ohio roads.
