From conversation to mobilization, build your organizing power with real tools and practical skills that move people to action!

In the second session of our Organizing 101 training, we shift from theory to practice, diving into the heart of grassroots organizing: one-on-one recruitment and relationship-building. Third Act co-founders Heather Booth and Bill McKibben return to share the real-world skills that power strong, sustainable movements.

This interactive training focuses on the “Four M’s” of organizing—Members, Message, Money, and Movement—and how to apply them in your own advocacy work. You’ll explore how to recruit new volunteers, nurture leadership, and use conversation as a tool for transformation. Special attention is given to how older adults can lead with their lived experience and mobilize their communities ahead of the April 5th National Mobilization.

With role-playing, breakout sessions, and practical exercises, this session is designed to build confidence and sharpen your organizing toolkit. Whether you’re reaching out to your first volunteer or looking to deepen your strategy, you’ll leave with clear next steps and renewed energy to grow the movement.
