It’s not enough to “play Defense” to stop authoritarianism, corruption and cuts to climate programs. Defense alone can’t win the ballgame. That’s why Smart Local Solar is a game-changer. Distributed small-scale solar energy prices have dropped 90%, and solar is now the cleanest, cheapest electricity on Earth – so long as we fight for it!

We will build power together, escalating toward Sun Day 2025 – what Bill McKibben has called a “huge celebration of joyful possibility… dangerous to the MAGA agenda”. Sun Day is an opportunity for solidarity across diverse climate movements to celebrate the power of the sun and change our world.

Ken’s remarkable career began in 1982 at a small bank in Florida. Two decades later, he rose to lead and eventually sell a bank. Around the time of the sale, he was inspired by Yvon Chouinard’s Let My People Go Surfing, which motivated him to found First Green Bank. By 2018, the bank had grown to $825 million in assets. In 2021, Ken came out of retirement to launch CFB during the pandemic—a challenging time to take on the risks of starting a new bank.

Through a series of vivid stories profiling children, parents, and medical professionals in her book “The Air They Breathe”, Deb shows how the microscopic structures and chemical reactions of the human body are interwoven with our surroundings—how lungs, sweat glands, heart, and brain have evolved. More importantly here, her book is a soul-stirring reminder of our moral responsibility to our children, and our profound connections to this unique and irreplaceable world. We will talk about how a global network of grassroots work among health professionals has been working to drive these messages – and how she keeps going despite the setbacks.

Blending insights from philosophers, poets, scientists, and theologians, Life After Doom explores the complexity of hope, the necessity of grief – and the need for new ways of thinking, becoming, and belonging in turbulent times. If you want to help yourself, your family, and the communities you belong to find courage, resilience and opportunity in challenging times ahead, this conversation with this wise and kind man will provide you with ideas for moving forward.

Hear from Bill McKibben and others, and take part in group discussions to process, share stories, and connect meaningfully with one another. This isn’t meant to be a political post-mortem, it’s a space to be in community with one another and share our hopes and fears for what’s to come and support one another.

Great Old Broads for Wilderness is partnering with Third Act to host a FREE webinar about the Public Lands Rule on June 25th at 4:00 PM (Mountain). Join us for a panel discussion and deep dive into the content of the Public Lands Rule.

Our expert panelists will be Bruce Hamilton (National Volunteer, Third Act), Michael Carroll (BLM Campaign Director, The Wilderness Society), Danielle Murray (public lands policy expert), and Sara Husby (Executive Director, Great Old Broads for Wilderness).

On the call, we will share

• Our plan for the first week of action during Summer of Heat (shut down Citibank’s HQ every day for a week!)

• The initial plans for the three weeks after that

• The vision for the a whole summer of nonviolent civil disobedience against the banks, investors and insurance companies bankrolling climate chaos

• What kind of support you’ll receive when taking action with the Summer of Heat campaign 

We will also connect you with an action group so that you can easily plug into the actions.

Learn what to expect in a PUC proceeding, how to comment on a docket versus how to give testimony as an intervenor. We’ll offer a walkthrough of a recent state PUC fuel docket to understand the players and their positions, and equip you to make effective policy arguments as an energy customer, civic leader and concerned citizen.

Get the big picture on why these dockets are important, and how Third Actors can make a difference, pushing for more clean energy, faster – to stop the build-out of dirty and dangerous fossil gas.
