The proposal to reduce or eliminate net-metering in Vermont is a step backward in our efforts to address the climate crisis, create clean energy jobs, and maintain energy independence. Instead of making solar energy more difficult to access, the Department of Public Service should be working to expand it. We urge the DPS to reverse its position on net-metering, reinstate fair compensation rates, and support all forms of renewable energy, including community solar and rooftop installations, as we work toward a clean energy future for Vermont.
Petition for Net-Metering Compensation Reform in Draft of Act 179 Renewable Energy Standard Report
This petition requests that the Vermont Department of Public Service (DPS) retract its recommendation in the Act 179 Report calling for “Reform compensation in the net-metering program and implement other renewable energy policy cost containment mechanisms.
