Urgent: Oppose a Beloit-area gas plant proposal with a comment by Feb. 12

Your immediate action is requested.

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) recently reopened a public comment period for Wisconsin Power and Light/Alliant’s new methane gas plant proposal in the Township of Beloit. Apparently, the PSC missed more than 100 comments submitted to the comment period on the DNR’s Environmental Assessment (EA) for this proposal(!). Most of these comments demanded that this EA makes clear that a full Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) must be provided. Upon acknowledging this problem, the PSC is accepting public comments pertaining to the project’s supplemental environmental assessment. Comments focusing on environmental health concerns (e.g., this one) identified that Beloit area residents already experience more health-compromising GHG pollution than all other industrial polluters in Cook County, IL (Chicago). Find a valuable short comment addressing diverse problems with this proposal here. Find many other comments already submitted here. Then submit your own comment at this link by Wed, Feb. 12.  Thank you!
