Third Actors across the USA Oppose Fossil Gas Expansion

TAWI’s Power Up Communities team (formerly, Democratize Energy team) is among many Third Act Working Groups across the country that are resisting efforts to expand fossil gas infrastructure.

For example, on 2/13, climate activists, including members of Third Act Upstate New York (TA-UNY) vociferously opposed the New York State Public Service Commission’s decision to expand the state’s Iroquois pipeline so that it can deliver yet more methane gas. For information, go to the TA-UNY website and listen to the audio story posted there. (Comments by a TA-UNY member start at minute 3:55.) For context on this situation, read this Feb. 7 Politico article.

Thus far, TAWI’s Power Up Communities (PUC) is analyzing, and as we deem appropriate, opposing proposals to expand fossil gas infrastructure by providing comments (online and in person) to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. To learn about upcoming opportunities to participate in these actions, look for notices in the Events section of this website, and/or contact sbmillar@gmail.com.
