In Milwaukee, organizers estimated that 5,000 people gathered in front of the Federal Building as police blocked the road. Third Act’s own Rebecca Solnit reported inn her “Meditations in an Emergency” substack that over 3 million people nationwide stood up for democracy and against the chaos in Washington, D.C.


According to the Wisconsin Examiner, an estimated 10,000 people jammed the Capitol Square and State Street on Saturday. One observer reported that it took the crowd 45 minutes to march down State Street from the Capitol Square to the Library mall and Bascom Hill.



In Green Bay, a smaller, but no less determined and enthusiastic throng of about 1,500 demonstrators gathered at Leicht Park with signs protesting tariffs, the stock market crash, and Trump administration downsizing of federal agencies, threats to Medicaid and cuts to education.
