TAO Bill Tracking Digest: Oregon Coalition for an Environmental Rights Amendment [SJR28]

If you are ready to stand up and be counted in favor of the right to a healthy environment for all people, OCERA (the Oregon Coalition for an Environmental Rights Amendment) is ready for you!

Senate Joint Resolution 28 [SJR 28] is up for consideration this legislative session.  When approved by the legislature, you will have the opportunity to vote to amend the Oregon Constitution to establish OCERA (the Oregon Coalition for an Environmental Rights Amendment): a fundamental right of all people to a clean, safe and healthy environment.   When the amendment becomes part of our state constitution, it will strengthen and remove loopholes from our current environmental laws, and mandate that lawmakers and courts must protect this right equitably and with consideration for future generations.

How can you help?

There will be a combination Lobby/Testimony/Rally Day in support of this amendment on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in Salem.  This is the day SJR 28 is scheduled for a public hearing.  OCERA needs YOU to attend, and bring your signs, voice, and the young people in your life!

Schedule, parking, and other details can be found here.

A quick online form to show you’ll be there, in person or remotely, on March 26, is here.

A flyer to help spread the word to  family, friends and neighbors is here.

OCERA welcomes the involvement of TAO – and you can amplify your voice in this cause by also joining OCERA as a member here!
